That's the sound that my truck made when I went to leave work for lunch yesterday. I knew my battery cables were in pretty bad shape. I saw the piles of puffy, green powder covering the terminals. I just kept putting it off.
So I got a jump from one of my coworkers and dropped it off at the mechanic. It was ready by the time I got off work, and only cost me $25, so all in all, it could have been worse.

Baking soda+water+toothbrush(or other stiff brush)=clean terminals. Obviously, doesn't fix bad cables.
