Does Obama even like this country?

I remember when Obama took a stand against letting anyone think he might actually like this country, by refusing to wear an American flag pin, but this video seems more powerful. I don't expect my generally dimwitted fellow Americans to appreciate this country, but I think it would be nice if the leader did.

  • When is the last time you put down your drink, much less put hand over heart during the anthem?

  • Yeah, what Sarcastro said. But honestly, this was not news five months ago when Sean Hannity tried to flog it and it's not news now when the Christian Identity White Righters are beating it now.

If it makes you feel better, here's two pics of him saluting the flag.

Me, I think the last words to the National Anthem are "Play Ball."

  • I think the phrase you're looking for, Bridgett, is that we should MoveOn

  • I don't go to nearly as many ballgames as you, but the last time I did, I did put my hand over my heart, so bite me Mr Snippy.

FYI, I bring my drink in a flask.

  • MoveOn are idiots. They have a lot of money and zero activist sense -- their organizational tactics are immature and mostly counterproductive to their articulated goals. They also waste (I think) a ton of money on stuff that any reasonably plugged in local activist could get done for free because they like the idea of a top-down national "movement" of donors rather that a bottom-up movement of workers.

Am I supposed to like them? What have they accomplished that's been in the slightest bit helpful to anything that I would want to see done in America? They've stomped around like a bunch of kids with pans and spoons and made it harder for the rest of us to do what we do.
