CEO Pay
Thomas Sowell has an interesting article out, where he ponders an interesting question.
The left gets so worked up over excessively high CEO pay, but has no problem with the even more-undeserved, excessive pay of professional athletes, Hollywood actors, or other 'celebrities'.

Who is this "left" you speak about? I think it's ridiculous that some old dude gets $28 mil for showing up to pitch three months of indifferent baseball. I mean, really now. (Then again, if it helps to bankrupt and frustrate the Yankees, it's all good.) Julia Roberts seems nice enough (who knows? she's an actress, duh...), but she gets paid a ridiculous amount of money for a fairly common skill.
Pointing out that celebrities make crazy amounts of money too is not a good response to the argument that it's wrong for a company to wildly overcompensate its CEO and then claim that it can't meet its pre-existing contractual obligation to pay workers' pensions. It's more of a "hey, look, something shiny" kind of argument. Works with three-year-olds, but we are not three-year-olds.

Most on the left ACT like three-year-olds.
You've been to the rallies; you know.
